35. Breaking the ice

Aadhya was deeply hurt and upset by the way Reyansh had spoken. It felt so incredibly low of him to say things that made her doubt herself. Needing space to cool down, she completely stopped talking to him. For two long hours, a heavy, suffocating silence filled the room.

When it was finally time for Reyansh to take his tablets, Aadhya walked over and silently handed them to him. But Reyansh, trapped in his own stubborn pride and guilt, looked away. He couldn't bring himself to beg for her attention, especially when he felt certain she had no intention of softening toward him. Turning his back was his defense mechanism.

Aadhya knew exactly what he was doing. It was a subtle form of emotional blackmail-he was refusing his medicine just to force her to break her silence. She knew she couldn't keep up the cold exterior if it meant risking his health.

Sighing, Aadhya let her anger melt into exasperation. "Okay, okay, I forgive you," she said, her voice softening despite herself. "Just stop the drama and take your tablets."

Relieved that the ice had broken, Reyansh didn't argue further. He took the medicine from her, the quiet tension between them finally beginning to ease.

Dinner Confrontation: The Truth About Disha and Aryan

Later that evening, as they sat down for dinner, the atmosphere was much calmer. Looking up from his plate, Reyansh asked softly, "Butterfly, where is Princess?"

"She went to meet Aryan Bhai," Aadhya replied quietly.

Reyansh frowned slightly, confused. "Oh? Why? I thought she explicitly said she wanted a break from him."

Aadhya put her spoon down, her eyes reflecting deep concern. "Yeah, she did. But she was really missing him. On top of that, Revati Tai-who works at Aryan's London apartment-called her. Tai said Aryan Bhai has completely changed. He isn't leaving his bedroom at all, he's overworking himself to exhaustion, and he's completely isolated. Disha couldn't just sit back knowing he's suffering like that. She missed him too much, so she left to be with him."

Reyansh shook his head, still skeptical. "If she said she wanted a break, why is she running back to him the moment things sound bad?"

Aadhya looked at Reyansh, her expression hardening with a mix of protectiveness and frustration.

"What do you mean by why, Reyansh?" Aadhya said, her voice laced with emotion. "They are husband and wife. No matter what Disha said about needing a break-which honestly could just be overwhelming emotions and hormones talking-it doesn't mean they are just going to throw their marriage away and separate."

She leaned in slightly, looking directly into his eyes, airing a doubt she had carried for a long time.

"I've had a doubt about you from the very beginning. It feels like you've never truly liked their relationship. But please, just don't try to break them apart, okay? They love each other deeply, and nothing is going to change that."
